Why is it important to find and trust a good local veterinarian for my alpacas?

A veterinarian who treats alpacas or llamas, or even a breeder close to you, can help you determine what your alpacas require in terms of wormings, innoculations, and toenail trimmings.

Of course, most breeders also learn to give their alpacas vaccination injections (and how to trim their toenails) and will be more than happy to show you how to do it yourself.
